Zimmerman Presents at State Bar Seminar

Attorney Ginger Zimmerman presented to lawyers from around the state at the Annual Debtor-Creditor Bankruptcy Update Seminar, which was held November 1-2, 2023. As a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin’s-Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Creditors’ Rights Section, Ginger discussed “Ethical Issues when Representing Owners of a Financially Distressed Business”.

Ginger was a co-presenter on the topic, and addressed the following issues:

  • Management of conflicts of interest between entities and their corporate owners/members
  • The importance of managing conflicts between the owners/managers and the entity, including identifying and handling potential claims
  • Clearly identifying the client, the attorney’s duty to the client, and related conflicts of interest
  • Managing a conflict that is irreconcilable

The seminar is part of the State Bar of Wisconsin PINNACLE workshops, where lawyers learn about the latest trends and developments that affect creditors, debtors and businesses. The seminar is available online temporarily, beginning November 10, 2023, for attorneys seeking Continuing Legal Education credits in this practice area.

Ginger has been recognized for her work in bankruptcy, creditor-debtor rights and insolvency by numerous lawyer rating organizations, such as Best Lawyers in America, Wisconsin Super Lawyers, Lawdragon 500, Fellows of the Wisconsin Bar Foundation, and Fellows of the American Bar Foundation.
