David Minko is a staunch employer advocate. Mr. Minko currently serves as co-chair of the firm's Employment & Labor Law Practice Group. He brings 14 years of first-hand business and regulatory experience combined with his legal expertise to the firm's Employment, Litigation and Health Care practice groups. David helps employers understand and comply with the wide array of state, federal and local employment laws, and defends his clients when necessary.
David regularly counsels employers regarding day-to-day employment issues to help them reduce risk. He provides guidance on issues that include: wage and hour, unemployment compensation and worker classification, employee benefits and disability accommodation; hiring, performance monitoring, improvement, counseling, discipline and termination; drafting employee handbooks and employment agreements; drafting and enforcing employee non-competition and confidentiality agreements and general compliance with the many sources of labor and employment law, including the National Labor Relations Act ("NLRA"), the Fair Labor Standards Act ("FLSA"), the Civil Rights Act, the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act (WFEA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), the Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009 and the Paycheck Fairness Act.
David's health care practice includes physician and nurse employment representation, litigation and licensure defense. David's background includes five years of service as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force responsible for overseeing compliance with employment law, human resource acquisition, training, contracting and competitive sourcing, and collective bargaining issues, and nine years experience as a nuclear power plant operator and instructor.

- David is a licensed nuclear power plant operator and instructor. He taught Power Plant Theory, Operation, Maintenance and Regulation for Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory from 1988-1992, and operated various Westinghouse and General Electric nuclear reactors and electric distribution plants from 1992-1996.
