Combining his practical experience as a builder, licensed real estate broker, and developer, Mr. Kassner has established his practice in the areas of land use, takings, eminent domain, environmental, constitutional, condominium and construction law, with an emphasis on litigation and appellate work. He has developed a state wide practice representing property owners whose rights have been disregarded by state, county and local units of government.
Mr. Kassner is an active member of the National Association of Home Builders, serving as a member of its Legal Action Committee; the Wisconsin Builders Association, serving as a Life Director; the Madison Area Builders Association, where he has served as a Director, chaired numerous committees, and was selected as its Associate of the Year in 1984; and, the American Planning Association, as an Associate Member. Mr. Kassner provides legal services to the Wisconsin Builders Association and Wisconsin Realtors Association, filing amicus briefs and presenting oral arguments to the Wisconsin Supreme Court on behalf of both Associations. He also served on the Wisconsin Joint Legislative Council that recently rewrote Wisconsin condominium law.
In addition to Mr. Kassner's professional experience, he was twice elected as a Supervisor for the Town of Madison; served upon and chaired the Town of Madison's Parks Commission; and, served two years as a member of City of Middleton Plan Commission. He has also served as a Director on the Middleton Area Development Corporation, as a Director and Treasurer of the Middleton Optimist Club, as a member of the Troop Committee for Middleton Boy Scout Troop 140, as a Director on the Middleton Good Neighbor Festival, and as a Member of the Middleton-Cross Plains Education Foundation.
