Mendoza Joins Firm
Murphy Desmond is pleased to welcome attorney Mario Mendoza to the firm! Mendoza has extensive experience in contracts and contract disputes, business organizations, collections, employment and litigation. As the Assistant to the Mayor of the City of Madison for eight years, Mendoza also has experience overseeing a variety of agencies including Zoning, Planning, Tax Incremental Financing and Public Safety. A fluent Spanish speaker and writer, Mendoza has served in organizations including The Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Madison Inc, The Multicultural Business Resource Center, The Latino Chamber of Commerce and Centro Hispano. Brad D. Bailey Award Honors Warren Kraft
Murphy Desmond attorney Warren Kraft was unanimously chosen to receive the inaugural Brad D. Bailey Assistant City / Council Attorney Award from The International Municipal Lawyers Association. This award recognizes an assistant local government attorney who not only provides outstanding service to the public, but also who possesses an exemplary reputation in the legal community. True Elected to Board of Directors of the Literacy Network
Attorney Michael True has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Literacy Network. True, who primarily focuses on family law, will work with the Literacy Network to provide free literacy services to help area adults achieve independence through education.
Krueger Elected to Board of Madison Children's Museum
Attorney Jenny Krueger has been elected as Secretary on the Board of Directors of the Madison Children's Museum. Krueger with serve a three year term with the award winning facility centered on connecting children with their family and their community through hands on activities. Congratulations to Jenny!
DeMarb Returns to Murphy Desmond S.C.
Attorney Rebecca DeMarb has returned to Murphy Desmond after five years in a small firm setting. DeMarb joins the firm's Creditors' Rights, Business Bankruptcy & Commercial Litigation practice group. In her practice, DeMarb represents debtors and secured creditors in bankruptcy, state court receiverships, commercial litigation and out-of-court business reorganizations. She oftens serves as the receiver for operating and liquidating businesses, as well as in real estate matters. DeMarb also handles collections for business clients and financial institutions. She is certified in Business Bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification and has been included on Wisconsin Super Lawyers lists since 2008, including on the Top 25 Female Lawyers list in 2010. Wendel Reappointed to the Board of Administrative Oversight
Congratulations to attorney Harvey Wendel who has been reappointed to the Board of Administrative Oversight on the Supreme Court of Wisconsin, as indicated by Chief Justice Shirley S. Abrahamson. His new term will expire in September 2013. Wendel is an active volunteer of his time, expertise and advice to the Wisconsin legal system and the Wisconsin State Bar.

Sweet and Furay to Judge National Moot Court Competition
Attorneys Jim Sweet and Cate Furay have been selected to judge the National Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition hosted at St. John's University in New York this March. Sweet also serves on the advisory committee of St. John's University School of Law Masters in Bankruptcy program, which is the only LLM in bankruptcy program in the country.
Ogden Elected President of Board of BEST
Attorney Erin Ogden has been elected President of the Board of Directors for BEST (Building Economic Strength Together), formerly known as Southwest Wisconsin Regional Economic Development Coalition. BEST continues its focus on bringing broadband access to under-served communities in southwest Wisconsin, and in general, fostering regional approaches to economic and community development.
Murphy Desmond Chosen as 1st Place Law Firm in Madison Area by Local Executives
The firm is honored to be the 1st place recipient of the In Business (IB) Executive Choice Award amongst all other law firms in the Madison area.
