Murphy Desmond Madison office moves to 33 East Main Street

After 20 years at Manchester Place on East Mifflin Street, our firm has relocated to the other side of the Capitol Square at 33 East Main, Suite 500. The firm occupies approximately 31,000 square feet on floors 5 & 6 of the newly constructed building. Our new office provides breath-taking views of the State Capitol and Lake Monona, as well as charming views of downtown Madison and surrounding neighborhoods. Our contemporary space was designed with functional flexibility and environmentally friendly materials. Underground parking is available for both clients and employees. Firm Opens office in Janesville

This July, the 76-year-old law firm of Murphy Desmond branched outside of Madison by opening a full-service law firm in Janesville, located at 400 Midland Ave, Suite 102. Two attorneys, who have practiced law in the Janesville-Milton-Beloit-Lake Geneva market, will operate from the Janesville office, and have the resources of all the attorneys at Murphy Desmond's Madison office.

Attorney Scott K. McCarthy, who helped develop our Janesville office, practices in many areas of litigation. In 1994 he was elected the Rock County District Attorney. McCarthy has a law degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law and an undergraduate degree from UW-Stevens Point. He served in the military from 1983-1985 and is an active volunteer in the Janesville/Milton community.

Attorney Stephen C. Werner, Jr., is also a founding member of the Murphy Desmond Janesville office. His practice focuses primarily on all aspects of business law including real estate transactions, sales and acquisitions, intellectual property matters, business formations and financial matters. He is currently the Commissioner on the Janesville City Plan Commission and involved with Forward Janesville and Junior Achievement. Werner has a law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School and an undergraduate from UW-Madison.

Murphy Desmond Receives a Top Honor From In Business Magazine

Murphy Desmond S.C. has been named by In Business magazine's "2006 Executive Consumer Choice Awards" as one of the top two law firms in the Greater Madison area! Law firms and other Madison area businesses were selected (and the top three named) by members of the magazine's Executive Registry, which consists of more than 700 business leaders. The list was published in the December 2006 issue of In Business. Congrats to all the hard-working people at Murphy Desmond for earning this honor for the firm!
