Social Security Administration Stops Mailing Statements to Certain Group

Due to budget restrictions, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will make changes to the mailings of important information for many people planning for retirement.

The SSA will no longer send mailings on Social Security earnings and benefits statement to the following individuals:

  • Persons age 59 and younger who are currently NOT receiving Social Security benefit.

The SSA will continue to send reports to:

  • Persons 60 or older, who are currently NOT receiving benefits and who have NOT signed up for a “my Social Security” online account.

To ensure you are getting your earnings and benefits information regardless of age, we recommend you create a “my Social Security” account by clicking here.
