DCBA's Harvey L. Wendel Service Award Given Posthumously to Judge Nichol

Murphy Desmond Attorney Harvey Wendel, along with Dane County Bar Association (DCBA) President John Laubmeier, presented the Harvey L. Wendel Service Award posthumously to the late Judge Gerald Nichol. Judge Nichol’s widow, Kathy Nichol, accepted the award for her husband at the DCBA Senior Lawyers Section 50th anniversary celebration in Madison, Wisconsin, on June 27, 2019. Judge Nichol, who had previously served as DCBA President, passed away in March 2019. Judge Nichol’s name was added to the plaque that is on display at the Dane County Courthouse.

The Harvey L. Wendel Service Award is given to a DCBA member who has extraordinarily served their community in the legal profession. It was first awarded to Murphy Desmond lawyer Harvey Wendel, as the award bears his name. The DCBA Senior Lawyers Section 50th anniversary celebration is intended to honor lawyers who have served for 50 years or more.
