Attorney Gretchen Burgess is dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of estate planning, including the preparation of revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney for healthcare and finance, special and supplemental needs trusts, and marital property agreements.
A Shareholder with the firm, Gretchen also handles the establishment and termination of adult guardianships, as well as the preparation of Wispact trusts. She assists clients in all aspects of the estate administration process, including formal and informal estate administration, special administration, and trust administration.
In addition, Gretchen has significant experience in farm succession planning. In fact, she has presented on farm succession planning to farm families through the University of Wisconsin’s Agricultural Extension program. Her knowledge of the topic is an asset to the firm’s overall abilities to help farmers with business operations, property sales/purchases, divorces, and other legal matters that affect farmers.
Community commitment is important to Gretchen. She is an active member through service on boards of several organizations that affect children, families, and the community overall. She has volunteered her time with Big Brothers Big Sisters, CASA, Crimestoppers, Rotary Botanical Garden, and Elkhorn Area School District. She is also active in legal organizations and volunteering her time for higher education.
