Attorney Liam Gilhooly represents Wisconsin clients in pursuing their estate planning, guardianship, real estate, and business legal matters.

In estate planning, Liam prepares wills, trusts, marital property agreements, health care directives, financial powers of attorney, and other documents that provide peace of mind for his clients. He has particular interest in special needs planning, including creating managed trusts and obtaining guardianships that safeguard individuals and their support programs. In probate matters, Liam guides clients through the court administration process with an emphasis on being cost-effective and time-efficient.

Liam’s practice includes real estate as part of estate administration, but he also assists clients with buying and selling real estate. He represents parties involved in real property disputes, including resolution of ownership disagreements. Liam advises landlords in preparing lease agreements compliant with Wisconsin laws and local ordinances. He also represents landlords in pursuing eviction actions against tenants and recovering money damages in the amount of unpaid rent, utilities, late fees, charges, and waste to the premises. 

With an M.B.A. from Marquette University, Liam offers his clients a unique combination of legal knowledge and business strategy. He advises on entity formation, business planning, contract negotiations and drafting, generational wealth-transfer strategies, risk management, and succession planning.

Liam primarily works with families, individuals, and business owners in Murphy Desmond’s Madison office but can assist clients throughout Wisconsin.
