Attorney Robert Pasch retired from his law practice beginning on February 1, 2025, but he remains with the firm in an of counsel capacity. Bob looks forward to spending more time with family, and his clients can continue to be well served by the following Murphy Desmond lawyers:

Business Law – Lane Rideout, Jason Reed
      Collection Law – Alex Becker
Creditor Rights/Business Reorganizations & Commercial Litigation – Ginger Zimmerman
Lending – Ginger Zimmerman, Lane Rideout
Mergers and Acquisitions – Jason Reed
Real Estate, Land Use & Development Law – Jason Reed, Peter Bazianos

During Bob’s 38 years with Murphy Desmond, he represented clients in creditors' rights matters, collection law, lending, contract law, general business representation, real and personal property leases, commercial law, and partnership litigation.

Bob's work in collection law included representing a broad spectrum of local, national and international clients. He literally wrote the book on collection law in Wisconsin. Wisconsin Collection Law is the leading comprehensive publication available on this subject and is now published as Volumes 12 and 13 of the Wisconsin Practice Series. He will continue his assistance with Murphy Desmond lawyers on this project for the 2025 updates.

Bob also represented lenders and borrowers in commercial and real estate transactions, as well as credit facilities -- both at the front end as to loan structuring and documentation, intercreditor agreements, guarantees, and related financing arrangements -- and at the back end as to numerous business sales and purchases, including workouts, forbearance agreements, and enforcement of rights and remedies. Bob has also served as a receiver by judicial appointment.

Business clients counted on Bob to provide a broad scope of legal services, ranging from advice regarding day-to-day issues to the purchase and sale of a business. He was lead counsel on numerous business sales and purchases, including a $180 million transaction.

A lawyer since 1972, Bob has been consistently recognized by his legal peers. He is named on lists for Best Lawyers in America, including the 2025 edition. In addition, he earned the "Lawyer of the Year-Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law-Madison" honor by Best Lawyers in 2021 and 2023. He is rated AV (top rating) by Martindale-Hubbell and lawyers.com and 10.0 "Superb" on Avvo.com. Bob was also included on lists for Wisconsin Super Lawyers and Madison Top Lawyers (by Madison Magazine).
