Attorney Thais (pronounced "tah-EES") Marques practices in the areas of collection law and commercial litigation. She assists the firm’s litigation team in matters related to debt collection, foreclosures, contract disputes, real estate matters, family law, and strategies to help clients avoid a court trial when feasible.

While in law school, Thais served in various legal roles including judicial intern with the Wisconsin Supreme Court, graduate research assistant with the U.S. Department of Defense, law clerk with the Wisconsin Office of Lawyer Regulation, litigation summer associate, and as a student liaison with the State Bar of Wisconsin. Her roles involved extensive legal research, brief review and drafting, motion preparation, client assistance on forms, and oral advocacy. Thais, who is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, also volunteered as a Spanish speaker with Marquette Law School’s legal clinics.

Thais is based in Murphy Desmond’s Madison office and can work with clients in person or remotely.
